On Sunday afternoon, the warplanes of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) unleashed a brutal and unprovoked aerial assault on the Sita Market in the Mayo suburb, followed by a second devastating strike on Bashaer Hospital in southern Khartoum. This indiscriminate bombardment resulted in the horrific deaths of more than 30 innocent civilians, the overwhelming majority of whom were women and children. Dozens more were severely injured, their lives forever altered, while the streets were left littered with bodies and dismembered remains — a scene of unthinkable horror.

These attacks are not merely acts of violence; they are flagrant violations of international law and egregious war crimes that demand global outrage and accountability. The intentional targeting of civilian spaces — markets, hospitals, and public service facilities — constitutes an unequivocal crime against humanity. The evidence is irrefutable. These airstrikes were carried out with deliberate malice, aimed at inflicting maximum suffering on the Sudanese civilian population. This barbaric assault is a chilling testament to the unfathomable cruelty of the SAF and its extremist allies from the former regime, who, driven by a total absence of moral restraint, continue to perpetrate unspeakable atrocities against their own people.

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) stands in solemn solidarity with the families of the victims, and we mourn this unfathomable loss alongside the people of our country. We call upon the international community, the UN, and all human rights organizations to urgently and unequivocally condemn these acts of savagery. The leaders of the SAF and its terror-fueled allies from the jihadist Islamic Movement, who orchestrated these attacks, must be held accountable for the bloodshed they have unleashed on innocent civilians. This carnage cannot go unanswered.

We implore the international community to stand with us, to support the families of the fallen, and to demand justice for these heinous crimes. The perpetrators of this barbarism must face trial in impartial courts, where justice will be served and the rule of law upheld. The blood of innocent Sudanese civilians cries out for justice, and we will not rest until those responsible are brought to account.

Our resolve remains unshaken. The RSF will continue its unwavering fight to liberate Sudan from the clutches of these murderous factions, to restore the true mandate of the SAF — to protect and serve the citizens of our great nation — and to return power to the hands of the Sudanese people. We will not allow the voices of the victims to be silenced, nor will we allow these atrocities to go unpunished. The time for justice is now, and we will ensure that the world hears Sudan's call for accountability and freedom.
